your poem underscores the senselessness and tragedy of wars. Reminds me of a song popular about 1970. "War, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing." Your message was powerful as was your rhyme scheme. Well done, Howard. enjoy your evening, Sara

The sad tragedy of wars. I like the lines, 'What was once a standard to wield/ Disregarded as if it no longer mattered.'
