Tarantula Hawk

Large violet blue wasp with almost uncanny skill Much bigger and very dangerous tarantula will kill The sting hard as steel The final paralyzing blow will deal The wasp will take spider to the nest Without stopping for a rest To put his larva unto tarantula is his grim quest Spider is still alive before larva it will digest Violet blue is color of soul And like that of a reaper is wasp’s role Is his heart black as coal? Or is it the need to feed the young out of control But the wasp knows nothing of the soul Nature gave him this role As wasp primitive and automatic is human soul Including my without justice at all I can’t even be the killing insect from which enemies will hide But some things jog my pride And my pain for lacking fearsome ability will subside Because before this is over I will have most fundamental justice on my side
