Take This Love, But Give Me New Love
Oh, clouded night, as darkness reigns
The blood of life pumps through my veins
Enough, to let me feel its power
Though, I am weak this midnight hour
As dismal rain now falls from above
I am reminded of my one, true love
She came into my life, but fled
As now, she’s in another’s bed
Oh, God above, how can this be?
I am but wanting, to be set free
But yet, I remain a captive, torn
Now wishing I was never born
As darkness now enshrouds my view
With eyes well closed, I beg of you
Allow me light, please, upon the morn
To not regret the day I was born
Then, speak of love, I’ll do, refined
I will be free, so not confined
Allow me love, the wings to fly
To pass your rain, there in the sky
