Notes About The Poem

Listen to poem:

Take My Hand Here's My Heart

surreal dreamlike reality
unexpected to say the least
savoring prized moments
precious pearls strung one by one

with bated breath
deep in our heart we realize
and know all too very well
there can only be one first

there can only be one first
genuine in appreciating its gift
a rare form of blessing
in its purest sincerity

to stretch beyond infinity
now that we grasp
how precious
truly it can be

there can be only one first
of that we can be sure
and all considered most likely
most undoubtedly our last

carvings in the silk of time
ripples across the ocean
to somehow capture
treasure and immortalize

You have explained precious memories so well here, and the importance of firsts "prized moments precious pearls strung one by one" Lovely!

A feast of a word salad. Well penned my friend. Wonderful imagery. I agree with Gershon... last line is a doozy. Stay well my friend.

This is superb, Line. The last stanza is simply to die for. A FAVE for me. Bravo, Gershon

Thank you so much, Gershon. I was afraid it was too convoluted ~
