Take Me To the Sea

Take me to the sea where the white sand is warm And the sea gulls fly in the peach colored sky. Take me to the sea where the waves deliver peace In the salty air, splashing on the jagged rocks everywhere. Take me to the sea to discover the precious shells Scattered colors left behind, with the comfort we will find. Hand in hand dodging waves, leaving footprints in the sand, Laughing like the gulls flying in the horizon so grand. Take me to the sea to build a castle never washed away, In our new memory forever from the soothing sea today. Heidi Sands 2/1/17 Placed joint first place in the contest 543. Any form, any theme.

Heidi, this lovely piece makes me feel so nostalgic! I grew up by the sea and I miss the scent of salt water, the sand, and the sound of the waves as they rush to shore! Thanks for the memories! Just beautiful! Best regards. Pandita

I have never been to the beach until now. I could hear the waves, I could see the gulls and I could feel the sand between my toes. A perfect poem for a snowy morning nicely done Heidi double smiles and in it goes. :)" :)"

You painted a lovely picture! When I can't sleep, I listen for the splash of little waves on the beach.

Lovely write, Heidi! I do like the ocean, but only go if I can get a nice secluded spot! Can't stand crowds! And I can do without all that sand coming home with me on my feet! Haha. It is a great place for meditation, though!

Thank you! Yes, It certainly is nice to have the secluded spot without the crowds. Funny about the sand on your feet ...lol. You are right as well about it being a nice place for meditation. I have been sort of meditating about it, without being there now. Winter is a challenge here :)
