I hear the angst of your voice and pain in your heart. You had way more grief than most. A FAVE for this expressive write, my friend--emptions tremble as I read your tribute to the beloved.

such a powerful and poignant poem, William. As the midnight hour struck, I too was filled with loss and remorse, briefly reliving some grief. I love the positive contrast of the 'smile' at the end

Your poem is a poignant and evocative reflection on the passage of time, the emotions associated with loss, and the significance of shared moments... The repetition of 'I smile' creates a poignant rhythm in your poem. The act of smiling becomes a powerful tribute to your son, family, and loved ones, infusing the narrative with positivity amid the emotional weight..
