HexSonnetta
The HexSonnetta, created by Andrea Dietrich, consists of two six-line stanzas and a finishing rhyming couplet with the following set of rules: Six syllables per line,
Rhyme Scheme: a/bb/aa/b c/dd/cc/d ee

The temperature soars; it's so sweltering hot relief is sorely sought, for sweat doesn't drip; it pours under a sun-baked sky, in the heat Summer brought. The beach is bittersweet; water versus hot sand as sunlight burns the tanned wading in their bare feet trying to beat the heat, where swimming has been banned. August in the city is bereft of pity.

Wow, so appropriate this summer especially. I'm getting ready to head out to Mt. Rushmore, and hoping the weather will not be too hot for us to really enjoy it. Perfect format for your poem, Emile.
