Premiere Contest WinnerSweet Violets

The path you walk I adore.
Seeds I’ll scatter around,
Then from earth, blooms will pour
to grace your precious ground.
A highway I shall lay for you.
Sweet violets I shall sow.
Where blossoms spring into view,
Darling, sweetly go!

Pretty heads will thickly spread.
A carpet it will seem
of amethyst you tread
as if inside a dream.
Among those flowers we shall meet.
We’ll lie on that soft path
with happiness replete,
reveling in love’s aftermath.

Dear Andrea, I'm in a wash of bittersweet tears right now. My mom's favorite activity in her assisted living phase of life was for me to wheel her around the garden and smell all the flowers and talk about how they were blooming. You wrote this on her last day on earth. I miss her dearly but am so very grateful for her 97 years. Ah, the power of poetry to kindle embers of a wistful, endearing memory. Thank you, poetess.

Saw this lovely work, and loved it. I am not active anymore, except in the rare case that I find a new poetry form to add to my Blog. Perhaps Alsheimer's approached but cannot figure out how to contact Brenda Chiri directly to obtain her specific on this form. Can you help me. My best email is [email protected]
