Sweet Tooth

Used on Poetry Soup 3/23/17 Sweet Tooth She always asks for candy, When we ask what she wants for her Day, Or on Christmas she asks for pralines, That come from far away. She never asks for diamonds, Nor an eco friendly mink; Only some kind of truffles, Or a gooey chocolate drink. Jelly beans by the handfuls, She keeps at her kitchen door, I’ll want that candy dish in her will, Just in case it fills some more. We all just call her Sweet Tooth, She never puts on any pounds, If she did, we’d love her just the same, For GrandMother is sweet as it sounds.

Grandmother's are the best, they deserve every 'sweet treat' their hearts desire for all the 'sweetness' they give. You are a sweetheart to pen such a lovely poem sunlite :-) lynnxxx I have not used the word 'sweet' so much but you and Grandmother's are the exception :-)

She only weighed 85 pounds and was blind, but in her house, she reigned.

Good Morning Sunlite. There are no words to express such beauty in my eyes. I had the best grandmother ever. And yes, hold the candy dish close and dear. I too have such tokens from my grandmother that I see each day. Wonderful work in its entirety.

My little 85-lb grandmother was blind, but she could do anything in her own house. Thank you for your kindness.

This was cute and very sweet my friend. As I read and got to the last line the poem sunk in and felt really good to read. A sweet lady with an enormous sweet tooth. :)

Sometimes I get bogged down in serious stuff. I wanted to do something light. It helped me remember her and relive.

My little blind grandma is gone now, Tim, but she did love sweets - she even scooped sugar up in her hand from the sugar bowl. Mother had to watch her!!
