Sweet Stars in Texas

          Somewhere....in....Texas

              ....A Teddy Bear...

Stares at the stars, alone on her bed,
Waiting happily for her to come to home.
He recalls her ribbons, the brightest of reds,
Never knowing, in God's heaven she roams!

The girl's mother, tiptoes softly in.
Pretending that her daughter is still there!
She caresses the bear, an emotional win.
The mirror reflects sadly, the room is bare.

Tears on the beloved Teddy Bear start to fall,
She remembers her daughter's lovely toes.
Mother imagines she's coming down the hall,
Oh, to just once more, kiss her sweetest nose!

Oh golly Paula…sorry to hear that. About the child and the divorce. I went to a funeral home to comfort a single Mom. Her son was just over a year old.i never saw a child in a casket holding his red teddy bear and in red pajamas! To make things even sadder, they were playing lullaby and good night on the soft speaker in the room he was in. This is one of the times of my life, but I lost it and it could only stay so long and I went outside and we in the parking lot.. I have tears coming down my eyes thinking about it. The room in the funeral home was full and everybody was crying. Soo very sad. Pangie xx

Honored by your comment, yes I do write from my heart, and I feel pain greatly when insults are written about good people in the USA as a joke. The best comedy is always about oneself. I trust people to be humane and no, they are on a path of destruction right now and I know it will not stop When poets do that they lose my friendship. Best we insult ourselves. I do mean what I say, they are bullies on the a poetic playground! Very sad to see Panagiota

This is very touching, Pangie. It reminds me of the Velveteen rabbit but not in the exact same way

Dear Pangie, Oh, how you tenderly captured the heartache of the loss of a child and the power of memory. What I loved is that you did it through a teddy bear and a grieving mother, you've shown the love that transcends earthly boundaries. Your words ring with bittersweet longing. A great emotional read! Autumn Blessings, MY Dear Friend, Daniel

Dear Daniel, you really have a compassionate and loving way in your comments to many poets. It is so obvious! Your humanity is showing, it makes poetic hearts glowing. Thank you for your insight into the bear and Mother. And bless you for being at the soup. Love, Pangie xx

No parent should have to bury their child, their rooms often left as they were when they lost them, so hard to let go. Tom

Dear Tom, oh, how I agree with you! You almost made me cry with the idea, that a parent has to go back to a room, where a child lft it for the last time..how awful! Then putting s child on the ground? My life ve to any parentwhohas been through this. I know you well enough to declare. What a loving Dad you are! I am blessed to know you xx Pangie

I cant imagine, John, losing a child at any age, this is a harsh reality many parents face! And no matter what their age, be it four or forty, the parents go on! You and I go on without our beloved mates, do we not? But they are eternally beloved!!Bless them!! Hugs~~Pangie xx

Glad youl liked it, dear Michael. I cannot imagine the depth of emptiness where one’s child suddenly is gone. It is beyond my scope of sanit y when mothers in Ramalladh pou nomd belts on children and send them off to kill Jews! They are told todo it for Allah! The height of child abuse? How sad pangie!

Lovely and touching it is, i lost my hear in anair raid drill during WWII. Some beastie stole him when the lights were all off in an air raid and many of use were in the dark.how mean! I slept with him each night, then, he vanished? How I missed Teddy. Mom bought me another, but I never got over that loss. You are very wise. Hugs, Pangie xx

Hi Karen, i agree on the softness of this one, I can see the teddy bear, his eyes, shining in the twiligt twikight of the stars. Hey, I will be reading you tomorrow. I know you have been busy lately, and I was at work on the election. I havent gotten enough sleep! But country first.,,I realize many do not agree. That’s OK! Other free countries are very repressive. Even jailing people, reading their emails? It is “free” country by the way. Not for long unless the people rise up. Hugs, Pangie.xx
