Sweet Nightingale

You come thoughtfully to me at nightfall, Offer a precious gift of calm repose Donning your customary velvet shawl, Peeking through the windowpane, I suppose Watching me dress in warm flannel night clothes. Chirp softly to let me know you are near, Reassuring me, you calm every fear At eventide. You visit without fail To help me prepare for night, that is clear, My faithful sweet, sweet purple nightingale. What a lovely, peaceful and serene picture Milt. We have had nightingales sing at midnight. I have loved their song that you perfectly captured in expectancy of a nightly routine. Congratulations and many blessings of serene slumber.

Your loyal purple bird, your lovely, dear purple nightingale. He not only helps you prepare for the night, but he also gives you a rare gift of peaceful rest, feelings that only sensitive poets like yourself Milton can feel. Peace and blessings
