SWEET GIRL

Intro — Spoken Funny how a few lines of poetry... can turn into something real. Verse 1 Sweet girl… I scribbled down a line Didn’t plan it — just spilled out in time My pulse won’t quit, it skips a beat Can’t tell if it’s your heart… or just my feet You signed your name with just one star And dotted the “i” like a shooting scar Chorus Sweet girl, you take my breath away You somehow make the grey days fade And I don’t know — is this all pretend? Or something real we don’t have to defend? Sweet girl… I’m trying to choose But I’m fallin’ — yeah, fallin’ for you Verse 2 I read your note out in the rain The ink ran wild — kind of like your name You wrote, “Love finds its way through haze” I don’t know… but I’ve been stuck for days Just the thought… of what you feel It knocks me sideways — makes it real Chorus Sweet girl, you take my breath away You’ve got that way of changin’ my days So tell me now — am I just some muse? Or are we both scared to really lose? Sweet girl… don’t keep me confused 'Cause I’m fallin’ — fallin’ for you Bridge I’ve faked it once or twice before But this one, girl… I’d fight a war I’ve walked away when dreams got thin But not this time — not if you let me in Final Chorus Sweet girl… I can scribble too But every page still bleeds back to you No clever twist, no last excuse You’re not a dream — you’re not a muse Sweet girl… you lit the fuse And I’m fallin’… fallin’ — yeah, it’s true I’m fallin’… in love with you Outro Tag Yeah, I’m fallin’… Not just writing… This time… it’s true.

Mutual attraction, but there is still the need to know where one stands! As always, your romantic pen has lost none of its sheen, Dave. Regards // paul

The prince of romance strikes again. You could give Cupid a run for his job. Straight to the heart.

You take your time describing all this, and this IS the sign of a great lover. Someone who is patient, giving, and who has the ability to be slow!!

That sweet ache of love- it does linger, after the fall. One that leaves you in complete awe. It sounds like you are circling around these moments. So many breathless moments! You are drifting in the sapphire blue, or the midnight hour- and you know, she is waiting for you. Once again Lyric Man, your thoughts hold such beauty, love and romance. :) Brandy
