Swan Diving
Swan diving, wet in the skin of the sea
beading up brilliance on common place me
Freeing the fury and complacency
I'm under the pressure of air.
Whistling the tune of nature's release
I'm fluid and stung by your dark memory
Crystal and crackling 'neath ice in the sea
like a mountain of green in my eyes
Salt of discovery, seaweed and brine
wrapping my legs and my freedom entwine
pulling me sharply from all that was mine
Threatening to hold me in limbo
Suddenly, just as the blackness of time
the memory currents and liquids unwind
I float on last breaths to the surface sublime
and promise to marry the sky.
