MY LOVE FOR WAR IS THE BATTLE WITHIN. THEY FIGHT EVERYDAY FOR OUR FREEDOM. THEY DIE IN BATTLE, THE ONE THEY SHOULD WIN. PROTECTING THEIR COUNTRY, LIKE A KINGDOM. NO ONE CAN EXPLAIN HOW MUCH IT MAY HURT. AS THEY ARE AWAY, WE THINK ABOUT THEM. NOT KNOWING THEY ARE LYING IN THE DIRT. THEY WILL ALWAYS BE THE ROSE TO MY STEM. HOPING THEY WILL RETURN HOME SAFE AND SOUND. EVERYDAY I MUST LOOK LEFT AND RIGHT. EACH TIME YOU ARE NOWHERE NEAR TO BE FOUND. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN MESSING WITH MY SIGHT. A KNOCK AT THE DOOR, COULD THAT BE FOR ME? EVERYONE WAS HOME, WHO COULD THAT BE?

White Wolf's tip is nice but don't use Soup's syllable counter. It sucks. I enjoyed reading your FIRST post here. Thank God for our soldiers.

This was sad but hopeful Ericka. Nicely done, the message hit home.

Welcome to the soup, Ericka! It is a great poem, however, 'every' is only two syllables! I always use the syllable counter up the top of your screen to make sure I'm on the money! I look forward to reading more of your works!
