Notes About The Poem

SUREST WAY

The surest way to failure is to exceed one's physical and noetic capabilities.

As always,
I would like to share the honor of the POTD with all my fellow poets who were

When we aim to achieve something far above our capabilities, we are heading into failure. Pithy and true. Brevity is your strength, dear poet Demetrios. Congratulations on your POTD

Dear Demetrios, Your short and sweet poem delivers a powerful, universal truth about the absolute necessity of respecting our human limits. It beautifully highlights the often-overlooked toll that mental exhaustion takes on our overall success. It urges the reader to pause, breathe, and avoid overloading their mind and body. You have taught me a new word: "noetic." Thank you and congratulations!

A concise and thought-provoking aphoristic free verse piece. Its restrained form gives the central insight real force: knowing—and respecting—the boundaries of both body and mind becomes a quiet definition of wisdom. Congratulations on POTD 👏

Hello Demetrios, Congrats of POTD that is freshly penned, it cuts directly through modern cultural noise with the quiet authority of a Delphic maxim. Precise, deeply wise, and monumental work, Demetrios. Blessings, Daniel

My dearest Daniel, your gracious comment deserves the POTD honor! Being Greek and having done my postgraduate studies in philosophy, I see the academic value of your comment in all its grandeur. However, my forefathers would advise me not to accept such glorious words because it would be blasphemy in the face of Apollo 😂😂 When I was much younger (Now I am in my 83rd year), I wrote longer poems. However, now that I have run out of time, I decided to become laconic, thus imitating my ancestors😊😊 Once more, I thank you for your precious comment. Blessings😊

Demetrios! This is one of the”whopper” of a free verse compact poem. Upon reading it I was trapped in the excitement of having to admit my ignorance of neotic, followed by a celebration of understanding the brilliance and precision of your use — relative to the poem’s meaning. CONGRATULATIONS on the POTD recognition. Frank Daub (of or relating to the mind, esp to its rational and intellectual faculties)

I understand, my dear friend; it happens to all of us. However, we have a Greek word for Neotic, which means recent or new, but it has not been introduced into the English language...yet 😂😂😂,

So sorry. I was typing my comment at 5:30 in the morning. Adding this: You are a true representative of the foundation of Greek intellectual gifts

Dearest Frank, I appreciate you taking the time to visit and offer your congratulations to my humble poem. Thank you so much!😊 PS: It is Noetic, a Greek word. 😂

Agreed, why set yourself up for failure other than privately as a learning experience about yourself, for yourself? Wise words. One should never be the poster child for what not to be! Take excellent care of your joy, CayCay
