Sunsets of Life

When walking out the door, seeing the orb Question came was it a sunset or sunrise 'Twas beautiful gold though clouds' rays some absorb It was then I knew we're old and wise Of course, recognized it was a sunset for us But I didn't know how soon your sun would set For you it turned to being so blessed plus But for me my life's dreams offset Thinking we'd walk in life's sunset together Maybe more time to enjoy our ramada Whether it was cold, hot or stormy weather Somehow we'd try a Mexican tostada You've gone home meeting loved ones, friends, Jesus While I deal with earth's doubts, not He who frees us

Thank you, Kai. I appreciate the comforting words, love and healing wishes. Slowly by degrees it is getting better. I know it will take a while because we were together in marriage for 63 years and we dated for 2 1/2 years before that. Sara K

It is heartbreaking to think how lonesome without your dearly beloved Sara. Such a beautiful poem. I disappear from the site and vow to myself I won't stay away long, but then I do. I think about my friends here, and remember you, my husband and I have prayed for you. I always hope I go first, I know, how selfish of me, but my sweetheart is so much stronger than I am. Sending you a hug, and lifting a prayer for you right now.

I need all the prayers and hugs that I can get, Bj. We don't know what we can do until we are faced with it. I prayed for God to give me to strength to make it through his short illness, then his death and funeral and He did so I know He will carry me through. Your visit and nice comforting comments are supportive. Sara K

It has not been easy, Nette. Something new comes up almost every week. Our oldest daughter has been helping me to handle all the legal, business, and other necessities that go along with a person's loved one. Your visit is uplifting. Sara K

A lovely sonnet on the sunset of life and the sunset in nature. We never know how soon our sun will set. That keeps us in suspense.

That is right, Valsa. We are not given an exit date so unless God reveals to us or gives us an extension from the death angel coming, all we can do is stay ready to go. Your visit is always encouraging. Sara K

IE, A nice warm spring day today although a bit dry. Lots of pollen that is causing allergy problems for those of us who suffer from it. Glad you got a message from my work. It is not finished though. Sara k

Short and sweet. Did you mean point at the end? I think there's a typo.

Andrea, yes, a typo. LOL..I am planning on writing a poem but I don't know when. Things keep happening, Doris invited me out to eat yesterday and she also took me out to Sprewell Bluff. The roofers are back this morning with noise so loud it sounds like a tornado landed on the roof and is spinning and spinning up there. Thanks for the nice review. Sara K

Yep, in that one now, before lights out. What the heck, it has been a well lived experience -- wife and I believe in endless life, making best of it. Blessings my friend.

Yes, Joe, I believe there is life after death. It hasn't been easy, but no one ever said life would be easy and at times it seemed long but now looking back it seems to have been very short. Thank you for the blessings. I was hoping to write a poem for this today, but it has not happened, however, the day isn't over. Sara K

Poing is a municipality in Upper Bavaria, Germany, located 18 km east of Munich. Or did you mean point?
