Sunset Stretch
On the road I go,
half broke,
with wild eyes making love
to the horizon,
"This is my time,
baby oh baby,
this is MY TIME!"
spirits rise with a mouth stretched wide
howling freedom as I drive
"Awooooo woo wooooooo!"
and I zoom past
Canadian soil,
and mother trees,
with their leaves
waving in the breeze,
going hundred miles an hour
I say "bye bye mama",
I'm out the door,
and gone to marry the sunset.
