Sunset Lullaby
SUNSET LULLABY
End of the day at the edge of twilight
Horizon blushes in delicate delight
Sunset colors spin astral strings thin
On the strands of cloud turned violin.
It’s time for the sea birds to return
To their nest riding the rays of sun
They glide smooth on wide wings
Over clouds of stretched strings.
The music seeps within me deep
Sunset lullaby puts me into sleep.
Flight of the day to the edge of dusk
Cold sun sips the sea before it’s dark
Washes colors in water touching sky
Hues from horizon to shore tides carry.
The waves rise with sparkling streak
Roll calmly to beach after they break
Dancing arms of embrace they fling
The song of sunset colors they sing.
The music seeps within me deep
Sunset lullaby puts me into sleep.
