Sunset

I remember the day your sun rose
Glowing along the horizon
A celebration in golden tones
How we all marveled

You held so much promise

Collectively we held our breath

As you ascended the morning sky

Yet for a time clouds blocked your light

We bathed in the brightness of you

Still we never doubted you were there

The highest point in our sky
Still we never doubted you were there
We celebrated your success

Feeling your warmth on our skin

As you traveled accross our line of sight

Cooling as you began your decent

You our beautiful companion and friend
