Sunset

Ghosts that fade thru empty years;
Ghosts that stretch the heart;
Ghosts that leave a trail of tears
And tear a world apart.

Shadows pale into the past
As sunlight dies its daily deaths.
The Sun slips below the earth's cold breast
Then shines once more with no regrets.

It would be interesting if all humans could start each day with no regrets like the sun but then we would not learn anything would we. Enjoyed reading your work. Sara
