Sunrise Splendor
The early morning sunrise is awash
with a royal flush of splendorous colors.
Amethyst with pink tinged hues create
a regal contrast to moody grey clouds.
Yawning shadows dissipate, while trees
that dot the countryside awaken.
Splashes of sunlight peak tentatively
through puffed pillows of clouds
sending a fillegrie of yellow sunbeams
down to softly touch the earth below.
Chill morning air rises over the
free flowing fields that lie, forgotten
between dwellings that stand in silence
at the edge of the city.
As the sun slowly warms the horizon
life begins to stir, people begin to rise
wild rabbits and creatures
in fields hide away.
This splendid, purple sunrise
ushers in yet another dawn
as the perpetual cycle of life
is repeated once again.
