Sunny Side Up No More Scrambled Skunk
I'm trying to understand, I really am
Why do you choose to walk on the dark side of the street
It's cold and harsh and lacks a certain rhythmic beat
Turning you grey from fingertips to feet
As from the dark alleys and shadows you eat
Does the darkness give you ease
Is it a cure for your disease
Tell me please
I'm willing to risk words that might freeze
Are there demons you need to appease
Does it give you comfort to see others on their knees
In your presence the temperature drops a few degrees
I seen you
Just the other day
All of a sudden with clouds you walked my way
I wanted to but I couldn't stay
With cruel words you chose to play
Taking perverse pleasure as my smile faded away
How can someone have so much useless to say
When life could be happy
You are the one bringing the pain
I've watched it over and over again
With you around a good mood is impossible to maintain
You're like a skunk in the corner and the smell doesn't wane
Is this the strange reputation you want to maintain
Around you a kite couldn't fly
I see people try
and I wonder why
You take their happy and suck it dry
Me I've had enough adios and goodbye
I refuse to be a part of this, I'm not that guy
I prefer to live sunny side up
You can have scrambled and keep living your lie!
