Notes About The Poem

Before the Day Turned Into Night Contest

Sunlight Faded to Tarnished Gold ITQ

Just on a whim I took a walk,
following the trills of a lark
Along new trails did I embark,
not recognizing a landmark

Fearing the worst, if truth be told,
along unknown paths I had strolled
The air touched me with frigid cold
Sunlight faded to tarnished gold

Cicadas sang as they took flight
'neath lavender skies of twilight
The path back home was in my sight
Before the day turned into night

Moonlight cast a soft silver glow
I smiled as it began to snow

Those moments are wonderful enough for the author to take in his/her vision, but when a poet of your talent takes one... I am compensated in full. Thank you very much, John.

Dear Lin, this is a poetic journey through uncertainty, beautifully captured in your verses. The vivid imagery of unknown paths, frigid cold, and tarnished gold sunlight speaks volumes. Yet, your words bring a sense of hope as the day turns into night, guided by the soft silver glow of moonlight. Your poem is a captivating stroll through emotions and nature's beauty. Loved it! - Blessings, Daniel

Daniel, I think I prefer your synopsis more than my poem. You felt my thoughts and emotions just as I did. Thanks so very much.

Sounds like a blissful walk you took Lin. Don't think I'll be out walking tommorow, big storm heading our way, heavy rain and 80mph winds. Tom PS Good luck in the contest.

Oh gosh, that's minimal hurricane velocity! No cliffs like those in the picture where I live. Thanks, Tom.
