Sunlight
At first glimmer the rooster crows
proclaiming dawn of a new day
As critters flutter a barn door shudders
sending the early bird on its way
Among the leaves and hardy stems
dewy petals curled so tight
Leisurely unfurl and delicately twirl
embracing the shimmering light
Gently parting the drawn curtains
waking with a glowing caress
Lured from dreams with diffused beams
the warm transition out of darkness
Along with elements of fire, water, and air
relying on its natural sustenance
For growth and vitamin D, warmth and energy
we cannot be deprived of our solar radiance
