Sunlight
When I stare into the future, you are there.
Sunlight hovering, highlighting my hair.
You use my shoulders to rest upon and I use
your brightness to smile.
Our friendship forever growing, you calm
me when hostile.
Sometimes I keep my light on
late into the night.
Perhaps still searching for you,
wishing you'd hold me tight.
Shading my eyes with one hand
I drive with you by my side.
On days when your out to play,
I take most things in stride.
And beyond the wonders at the beach
that I see everyday
You never cease to amaze my eyes
when you set to rest and lay.
You bring the world to life
then let it sleep awhile.
Wake us when your energized
with precision and such style.
Feeding my body with love
after it's ached in the rain,
softening my heart
on days when it's felt pain.
When I stare into future, you are always there.
Sunlight hugging me with the most tender care.
