Sunday At the Park

dappled shadows
waltzing on winding sidewalks...
polka dot ribbons

          frisky Dalmatian
          leaping for flying Frisbee...
          dust motes in sunlight

                    freckled faced twins
                    eating rainbow Popsicles...
                    sticky park bench

                              slanted jewel tones...
                              sprinkled sky littered with
                              butterfly kisses

Sunday afternoons will have to get considerably warmer to spend them this way. Your set of haiku poems are collectively very descriptive.

I love how the first and second ones blended so fantastically together. Those two were my favorites. And butterfly kisses was so cute. Also, the end line of haiku three goes so well with the Popsicle line. Adorable series, CArrie. HOw the heck will Charles choose just three, for heaven sakes? Have you seen Sara's too?(I don't know if I saw the others yet, but I bet they are all good). I think he might have to put ten spots! Luv, Andrea

You sure made me smile reading your haiku series, Carrie. This is awesome! All of the things you describe seem like memories taken from childhood when "Sunday at the Park" was a special family outing. Best wishes in the contest, dear. Love, Carolyn
