It's not enough they lie withered and fading. Now they have to stare up at where they once blew in the wind... waiting for the snow to shroud them, too. That's a bit maudlin of me, but each Fall I feel angst for leaves. Good thing I live in an environment where most trees are evergreen, and the only things falling from branches are pinecones that are collectible.
