Sun

The horizon gives her shelter
For another night
To rest her rays and firestorms
Till dawn calls for a light

Then up again she rises
To herald in another day
With a veil of mist and fog
In the valley down our way

Above the houses now she shines
Too bright for eye to see
Yet we can feel her heat
As we take shade beneath a tree

The busy bees are buzzing
In the foliage up above
While in the pond two amorous frogs
Are struggling to make love

Now her meridian she has reached
And we can feel her power
Drenched with sweat and baking hot
The only respite, a cold shower

Before too long she will dip
Below her blue horizon
To end for us another day
With lots of legs to spy on

Then she will take her leave from us
For yet another night
Leaving us with sunburnt skin
That’s shining cherry bright

Without her life would not exist
The planet could not survive
So sun please rise tomorrow
To keep mankind alive

A nice warm write in march. I can feel myself breaking out in a sweat already. :) Is it me, or does it seem like the sun has grown more intense in our lifetimes. Must be the damage to our atmosphere. Happy belated St. Patty's day to Ya. Now go have a nice Guiness and a plop in the shade. Peace. :)

- Without the sun .... no, I can not do without the sun - In Northern Norway, they have no sun for several months a year, dark, day and night ........ - Could not be able to stay there. - But, as you probably know, Northern Norway have a beautiful time with the midnight sun and beautiful northern lights. - A fine poem, Robert. - oxox // Anne-Lise :)
