It was in the heat Of your desire That my dream began To blossom And then to fade Like a flower I could not eat For the flower Comes before the fruit And if the fruit Is a raisin It is sweet Enough To be digested In the mouth Salt as sea And then to rise Again Over blues of mountain A stiletto in the eyes.
