I love to rise at dawn greeting folk with a warm smile Though if any clouds are present, I may vanish for a while Forgive me for playing hide and seek but I like to have some fun Because when I make an entrance folk say ‘look here comes the sun’ With my golden beams of sunshine I give a dose of vitamin D Some bask in my rays and burn, I don’t think it’s too healthy! I blush scarlet every evening turning the sky an orangey red I’ve warmed the earth for hours, I’m tired its time for bed

Great personification. Great choice for one. The sun also has power to reduce the size of any chips it finds on our shoulders. Best regards always David in NZ

Jan, very cute. I remember listening to the song when it debuted in 1974 or 1975...I can't remember which. This is very clever and fun to read. Brightens the day! We're really very lucky that all the energy from our start balances and allows us life. It's miraculous.

Dear Jan, What a delightful ode to the sun, capturing its playful essence and nurturing presence. It's a whimsical portrayal of the sun's daily journey, from rising with a warm smile to blushing scarlet at day's end. Your words evoke a sense of gratitude for its life-giving energy while highlighting the need for balance and caution in its embrace. This is acharming reflection on the sun's role in our lives. - Blessings, Daniel

Great personification. In Malta, end of March is sunny but still cold. Wait for July and then many people will have to resort to sunblocks.

I imagine they will need more than sunblock with the soaring summer temperatures - I am not a fan of the heat so would never go abroad in summer:-) hope you are keeping well:-) hugs jan xx

a delightfully 'sunny' poem, Jan. You have brilliantly personified the sun. The last line was great--I'm tired...it's time for bed--creative and clever. Enjoyed your poem this evening. Best wishes with the contest, hugs, Sara
