Notes About The Poem

Summertime Captured

My mind sees the heat of summer
it feeds layers of linage drifting destinations
adrift they map into not the meticulous
but the slop moppy hodgepodge
and through each droplet
I can give myself a true art buzz
provide a pivot in my perspective
and give gripping observations
I've a dire need to drip, drip
 dripping something that appears
without knowing what’s going to happen
I’ve captured summer
 it's Fall, on the cusp,
inside I dance
around my canvas
with you as an arc alongside

I've always wanted inside the brain of someone who raved over his art, all I came up with was a quick, 'cool. I'll buy it' thing reaction. I just sat inside your perspective. Your mind sees/feeds layers of destinations that map into and through each other and must surely give a true art buzz. I know further know how different people are in our people sameness. Your poem provided a pivot in my perspective and understanding. Bet you didn't know all that was going to happen, me either. CayCay

CayCay, hope your day went well. I learn so much about myself from your observations 😊This is more on the technique side of the art spectrum...it isn't my bag, but boy Jackson had an interesting style and life! Lifestyle? Haha. I have blown food coloring through a straw, couldn't just leave it, I drew a geisha 👘on it, I loved the outcome.

very intriguing, way way out of the box, like the painting-.... "Fall aside" !!!

They called him Jack the dripper<--that's out there, but seriously he was a national celebrity <3

rhythm spackles not of chaos but evoking nature scapes an orchestral overture no finale...a fun write! Enjoyed!

Your ekphrasis echoes the painting’s restless movement, while “where the eyes do not settle” beautifully captures its shifting visual rhythms. The interplay of paint, emotion, and natural imagery leads into a lovely closing invitation to dance alongside the artwork.

I try & capture the artist through personification, he was deeply invested in his privacy & didn't take well to celebrity (national celebrity). TyVm, poetess💕
