We knew we couldn't take the summer home in globes of flakes just like a winter snow. As falling sunlight faded into gloam we stood upon the beach for one last show of tangerine and seafoam in a poem until our dreams had no place left to go. We knew we'd never be this young again, but prayed the glow would stay until the end.

A beautiful and thoughtful write Dale. Amazing imagery and I especially love your first line; that longing felt of summer lost is poetic and poignant. And your last two lines are incredible.., 'We knew we'd never be this young again' - poetic bliss!
