Summer Skies

Summer Skies

As I lay in the sweet green grass
just staring at the sky
I notice those tree branches 
that are reaching way up high

They seem to join those soft white clouds
that lazily float along
as the breeze that flows among them
sings a summer song

I would so love to join them
to fly up in that blue
looking down on the earth below
seeing colors of every hue

It always calms my senses
Mother Nature all around
I seem to blend right into it
just a speck here on the ground.

So good to FINALLY catch up with you again, Lenna! I absolutely love this write! This reminds me so much of what the Druids call Neladoracht, or cloud divination! The Celts were fascinated by the winds and weather, believing that the sky illustrated and played out the Mysteries, life and death and the wisdom of creation being visible and spoken upon the sky. This is heavenly Lenna! I fell in love with the clouds in my youth and I spent my adult life working in them, flying. Your poem has made me feel so nostalgic. Thank you. : )

Hi Connie, so glad you enjoyed it. Thank You :) I used to like flying in a small plane, though not so much on commercial airlines. I would take hundreds of photos while up there viewing my world. It always amazes me what it looks like from up there looking down instead of always just looking up. :)
