Summer Rain

dark clouds gather round
they rush and collide in sky
igniting fireworks~
wind howls, clouds fly past the sky
fast is the change of weather

wisps of rain dripping
dry land sucks it greedily
belch of steam rises~
heat waves abated for now
earth leaves a sigh of relief

soon the rain grows weak
and now its rattle is stilled
leaving waves of thrill~
like a sweet symphony stopped
making the hall fall silent

Joseph P. DiMino August 26, 2025 at 2:58 AM Wonderful description of a Monsoon type cloudburst. In recent weeks we have had such welcomed activity in Phoenix; for at least a decade we have not had our typical, desert Monsoon season. So, we are delighted with the return. The rain is good...but the wind can be quite a problem. Cause a lot of damage to structures and gardens.
