Stumbles

“Are you drunk?”?
   No, I am Poet.?
“You’re drunk!!”?
The only thing I’m drunk on is my emotions.?
“What does that even mean!?”

My emotions are strong,
    they intoxicate me.?
My words don’t slur,?
    But my heart

  stumbles—?

And my actions become erratic.
I’m the type to drive through the night?
Just to meet you for breakfast at dawn.

To savor the moment,?
Then disappear into the day?
Just as fast as I came.
