An out on the porch few minutes..Sara
As the roosters greet the cool morn
Flightless unable to soar
Earthbound noisely let sun hear
I'm here, I'm here such bore

They strutt, throw chest out arrogant
Are they impressing males
Females or try to bolster self?
Oh flightless bird what ails?

The sun that peeked red between clouds
Now is gold above mass
Soon the cool of the morn will wilt;
The roosters' crowing pass.

The sounds of morn that saturate
Enter my being, soul
Soon will evaporate_dry_go
Let moments in soul mould...

Great sound image, Sara. I can hear that dread rooster cry. Time to get up. Love, daver

An unusual topic and good read... It brought back memories of my Aunts farm and her chickens that I helped keep.
