Structure of Our Space
This morning,
after the moon blinked its
unblinking eye,
I stroked the speckled ivory of
your shoulder
thankful for your presence
and your patience
throughout the years.
A strength has been derived from
our life together,
and now apart, yet still together
although the form has changed,
the feeling is the same,
and bonds stronger than
love, blood or tears
hold us in
our elliptical
orbits,
satellites
of each other
spinning distantly.
