Strong Woman Letting Go
Since the dawn of time a woman was been given a task
She was destined by her man to do all that he would ask
Have his children, cook his meals, be seen in a pretty dress
Have a cheerful demeaner, no matter how bad the mess…
But times changed with the coming of women’s equality
She was no longer a slave sitting at her partners knee
She was given inner strength, then she raised her mighty voice
“You cannot hold me down, for now you see I have a choice”
Relationships shifted, they’re no longer a one-way street
But burning bras, and taking control was not always a treat
You see, I like the differences between woman and man
I’ll keep my bra, I’ll clean the mess, I’ll do all that I can!
And when the problems get too much, and stifle every goal
Some ice cream, and a bubble bath will soothe my very soul!
