Strange Mercy

Then, in the black stillness, breaking the silence  Came a desperate primal scream My own heart bursting  Longing for deliverance There, deep in the shadows appeared a stranger Though his eyes, familiar… And I wrestled with him as if my enemy Hands choking the demons from my wretched heart On my knees in devastation I saw my faithless life reflected in eyes of fire  As he glared at me with contempt, And Strange Mercy… He abandoned me there To Death… To Life… And The Light burned my lies to ash And Grace…broke me open And Love…forged me anew
