Story of Our Lives

the morning brings hope for all who lay awake at night
their chains broken with the crack of dawn
the sun rises, burns their horrid fear
bite the hand that feeds and it won't wipe away your tears
ashes scatter as they are carried with the breeze
with this truth there must be a lie
whether spoken aloud or in a thought in the mind
I hold steady and my hopes rise renewed
I know this may make no sense to you
but the truth be told its as deep as the heart within you
we rise, we fall, we laugh, we cry
we breathe as the breath of life will surely die
let your life be lived do not let a chance pass you by
in the end you shall give a passing glance to those who saw your road
and as they fade from sight your story will be told
from the sunset at the eve of every day to the break of morning light
surely you will tell the story of the lives of the people you passed by
