Taken during a storm on the Isle of Man in February 2014

Taken in Feb 2014 - this picture was taken when my husband drove first time since his prostate cancer surgery and he had to take an alternative route (as the road was closed by the police) and park the car elsewhere and walk down to the shore

The storm was spectacular Susan and we have pictures of the waves as high s the pub which is aptly called 'The Shore' the day is memorable too because it was another step towards my husband beating his cancer by being able to drive once more:-) hugs Jan xx

The poem itself already gave us a vivid picture of the rough sea; the picture confirms it! Summer on the Isle of Man looks calm and lovely. Maybe one of these days.....:) Hugs // paul

I will never forget that storm as it was so spectacular and also because it was the first time that hubby drove after his cancer surgery:-) hugs Jan xx

Thanks for telling me about the pic - hubby removed it from his web page and now it's gone... it is basically a before and after scene just to show what the road is usually like:-) hugs jan xx

I've seen the storms getting worse and worse Connie but this one was particularly memorable ads i was at work and my hubby drove for the first time since his cancer surgery:-) hugs jan xx

Jan, That looks scary as hell. Mother Nature sure can be brutal. Thank goodness your hubby made it home. Not ideal driving conditions to say the least.

The road was closed for a long time as their was rocks and debris thrown over the sea wall. He drove the long way round to get their and back but it was a turning point for him to be driving again after his cancer surgery.:-) hugs jan xx

Thanks Ilene we've had some spectacular storms since we've lived on the Island I think the worst one i can remember the boat didn't sail for about 3 days and the fresh fruit and veg isn't available but its something you just accept:-) hugs Jan xx

I think even the surfers stayed at home as it was far too dangerous and anyway the road was closed they couldn't have got down to the beach:-) hugs Jan xx

Cheers Dale you can literally get 4 seasons in one day in different places in the Island. we had awful rain yesterday morning but when we walked to the next village and bumped into our friend she was amazed when we said we'd not been able to go out as it had been brilliant sunshine there:-) hugs Jan xx

It's like a before and after pic so I had to post them both to show what it is usually like in the bay. I was at work that day and remember driving was absolutely horrendous and that was before the road was shut:-) hugs jan xx

Jan, as far as I understand, we cannot directly upload images to PoetrySoup. You need to have some web space to upload your pictures as jpg files, and then you can put a link to that location. That's how I do all of mine; almost all images I have on my poems are my own photographs.

I'm sure we have similar conditions Anne Lise it can be pretty scary. Our supermarket shelves get cleared of fresh produce as we rely on the ferries to bring in supplies but we still survive lol:-) hugs jan xx

I loved this incredible write this morning my friend! You have delighted me with your clever Haiku here! Storms near the ocean can be very frightening with the waves coming in strong! I would be scared to death if I was in the lighthouse when I huge storm comes and beats and pounds upon it! You poem supplies creative thoughts about this! Great Work!!

Thanks Russell I wish i could post the pictures as the place they were taken is by 'The Shore Hotel' and the poem would make more sense. The actual storm was in Feb 2014 and it was the first time my hubby had driven since his cancer surgery. i do hope I can work out how to get my pictures on:-) hugs jan xx

As for your pictures, go to the photo and right click on it, then select copy image. After you do that, go to your poem and in the area at which you can put your picture, click in the box and then press CTRL-V at the same time and the image should appear in the area. Good luck!
