Storm

There once was a tropical storm.
It continued all night long.
I tried to remain calm.
Despite the raging storm.
And so, my latern was lit,
but the lightening stomped it out quick.
Now there's a purple haze in the sky.
This is my ending, no lie.

I enjoyed your poem! One time I was so thankful that a portable video player was charged up. Electricity went out with Winter Storm and my husband was out of town.
