Stopping To Pet

God speaks to me,
His scriptures comforting
my tongue and ears –
His living word, a sweet
accompaniment~ we are
lovers, heart and soul
spiritually entwined...

I am reminded of
that rural church, a
primitive bench for two
or more

far apart from the
transcended mockery of golden
cathedrals, with magnificently stained
panels, popes and kings imagining that
it is possible to gild and paint one's
way into heaven

(a cat leaps into my lap – we have been
writing buddies for some time now; his
insistence for a pet reminding me that all
my high minded thinking has taught me
nothing, if I do not interrupt, and commence
with the honor....)

"What you do for the least in my Kingdom...." I love cats. For domestics, Maine-coons can get large. Mike Tyson had 2 tigers. He learned quickly not to get between them when they had a spat. I had a family of raccoons wandering around the backyard. Cats learned quickly not to mess with them. The oddest sounds.

Joc, you grabbed your pen to translate heave’s inspiring force. You are blessed and I’ve no doubt God know your love for him that you hold within. I also was touched by your Metaphor. God is to you as you describe you are to your cat (in that) a human will call from his/her soul for comforting “oats”. .? Sally

Hi Sally; so wonderful that you picked-up on this subtlety: the expression of love gives the soul wings, and a never-ending span of Light....

Confusion fell upon them, they heard about the outside cup looking good and inside being dirty, so they try a fix the inside with things appealing to the eyes,. Yes we are the temple God wants to reign in,. Deception is everywhere,.

I saw Notre Dame before the fire and thought…wow, heaven is better than this…yet I also have seen very simple churches, that likewise inspire thought. God is good…in gold and peasant dress…matters not. What matters is our heart!God bless you, Joe <3

It's things like petting your cat that makes life wonderful, Joe. A delightful poem, touching on interesting topics. :)
