Stop Postponing Life

Stop postponing life and start living

Often we push our thoughts too far
And it is common for us to worry about the past
Skipping the present
Missing the point, diverging from the current.

The past is something we once had
The future, something we wish to have
But what if the present is all we have?
Or all we’d ever have
What if we’ll never go beyond today?
For we are not promised the next day?

Worrying about the future helps us not
Neither does regretting the past push us forward
If this moment is all there is
Then I better realize it and learn to live:
In the moment that is
To draw back all of my energy,
And focus to this moment

So wait not for the rain before you plough
For you know not when to expect the rain cloud
Do what you can right now
Use what you have right now
For it is already enough
We just have to see it as such.
