Notes About The Poem

Stone Soul

Some folks have a stone, a stone for a soul,
A stone for a soul in their mind,
And when they search for their emotional truth
Cold stone is all that they find.

Cold walls, black walls, walls empty of life
Walls void of feelings of hope
These folks use stone walls to hurt, to upset,
They use these stone walls to cope.

And they cope by demanding, taking from others,
Material, time, fun, true wealth,
By raising their voice, and throwing a tantrum
Destroying people’s good, their health.

But there is a solution, a cure for stone that
Turns stone to a get up and go.
And that’s by everyone banding together and
To collectively simply say “No”.
