Stone Angel

An angels hand I grasp I hold
Taken breath away held rock solid still
The angelic prayer is a silent ordeal
Sculpture of my guardian confession

I like the tension here between cold strength and warm caregiving. One of the tips I believe I learned here about poetry writing is to always look twice whenever you use the word "the". If your message still works without it, then poetic flow invites you to dismiss it, or maybe replace with "this". That also came to mind here, especially where you use a minimalist style in which every wordchoice clearly counts for both beauty and truth. GD

I appreciate the time to give me some poetic insight and a tip about the word 'the'. I decided to go back and reread as well as make two small changes after reading this comment. Which I feel has made this short write that much better. I thank you for the constructive criticism and knowledge shared! :-)

Very unique perspective, Kristina. You bring such originality w/each poem. A most talented pen you wield. Creative poetry w/a thinking edge crafted into the woven tapestry. Love and joy always.

Thank you Freddie for your wonderful comment. I enjoyed the photo that took me to a place of short prayer in this poem. I am glad you take the time to notice the originality I express in each piece. Reminds me of my writing talent and I appreciate your poetic minds point of view. XO

This conjures a very solemn image for me ... melancholy but spiritually centered. Wonderful substance and an unusual flow, sans punctuation ... I like that. Nice - blessings! :-)

A photo prompt from @realisticpoetry on twitter. I shared this on my poetry.com page with the image. I really enjoyed this short write because of the statue pictured. I do not typically write in this way which is something I look forward to posting more of. Have a lovely evening Greg and thanks for enjoying my new work!
