Notes About The Poem

Stock Piling

Sue’s purchased a huge baked bean mountain, There’s ninety six tin’s - she’s been countin' From midnight to morn She’ll toot like a horn There’s a flatulent stench I’m not doubtin! Her neighbours they sure are not smiling They’ve noticed how Sue is stockpiling By hoarding loo rolls And pasta in bowls A report on Facebook they’re compiling She claims all these things are ‘for me’ But sells them for an inflated fee There’s a massive amount In her e-bay account It’s selfish I think you’ll agree! Fiction poem but having seen stuff for sale on E bay it does have a ring of truth to it 04/02/20

This deserves POTD - _ thank you for your all your talented writes you post. This displays a greedy element which rears its ugly head in turbulent times - use and abuse - and which you so poetically perfectly you describe - wonderful poem! Blessings, Jennifer.

I'm trying not to write about the virus but this one just had to be written after I read a newspaper article abut the amount of stock people are accumulating and hearing how some are selling items on the web at extortionate prices. someone was telling me they paid £11 at their local shop for a bottle of calpol which normally sells for around £5 - blatant profiteering:-( hugs Jan xx

Pretty much sums up the mind of those who stockpile and the nonsense that accompanies this mindset. Great work. Ron x

Oh yes, people are stock piling plenty of crazy things! And I don't doubt there's price gouging too!

I've noticed the prices in our shops have increased and in one of the shops the size of the loo rolls has definitely decreased but the price remains the same - a 9 pack looked about the same size as a 3 pack of kitchen roll!! But we are fortunate we can still purchase it:-) hugs Jan xx

Our newspaper published a map of COVID-19 reports on the island of O'ahu. Surprisingly, the highest concentration is among housing for the wealthy rather than the poor. Although it also appears Mormon missionaries are delivering more than the gospel, perhaps Karma is auditing E-bay? Well said! Aloha! Rico

Brilliant Jan, there are many doing that for financial gain while the elderly get there too and find shelves empty. Certainly brings out the worst in folk. Thankfully lots of good folk out there too. Stay safe Tom
