Notes About The Poem

written for the song " still in love with you" by Glenn hughes,

for Glenn Hughes contest sponsored by robert James Liguori.

Premiere Contest WinnerStill in Love with You

O’ divine stars, sprinkling
ruby wine ribbons
upon idyllic fields,
where fireflies lit the night skies~
with feathers of nirvana,
dancing above weeping
waves of twirling time.
Listen to the perfumed
poem of my soul,
written from lilac pink liquid ink,
emanating the nostalgic
fragrance of a withered rose~
from Aphrodite's castle
of myrtle magic,
where longing and love float
in flavors of sweet blossoms
across pastel pages
of immortal romance.

O’ beloved, I hide these
amethyst affections,
behind the mist
of unspoken words,
in the warmth of morning dew,
while the bonfire in my heart
rises above to caress
diamond dreams
across your daffodil dawn,
for I love you still
and I loved you then…

I am drowning in my darkness,
whistling your name
into the wilderness,
wondering, am I in this alone?
Do you feel the same?
I’ve woven your
initials across
magnolia meadows,
while nightingales rest
on breathless branches,
crooning aching lyrics
I weave in sunflower silence.

Now the sunrise we shared
sails in sketched solitude,
as the pale shadow of midnight
is for poets pining to be heard;
seen beyond lying lies of fortune,
and suppressed melodies
of onyx tears,
while I question the melted moonlight,
in rhyme-less prose…
Have you forgotten our songs?
Am I the one to take
the blame for unwritten wrongs?
Would I see you again
beneath honeyed horizons?

Here, in the labyrinth of loneliness,
I search for a tune to lure you back,
like flowers that await
the return of butterflies.
I close my eyes for a glimpse
of your silvery silhouette,
’cause I’m still in love with you,
your voice, your touch,
and all that you are…

Another heartbreaking tale of unrequited love, a deeply rooted regret and remorse here, an unquenchable longing for a love that has relinquished. I am in awe of your eloquence and romance. Too many amazing lines to quote here, but know this: as the melted moonlight drips around you, I see you in the shadows of midnight; sparkling like a diamond among the celestial tapestry of love.

I always believe that love and yearning go hand in hand. Yesterday I found out, that yearning is not love. Anyway, two truths can coexist and experience and perception birth our ideas, beliefs and findings. If the person is doing okay with me being distant, then I should. I've never had to love so many people but I've hopelessly loved once, and all the years I was unable to write here I was battling WB and HB. I learned the hard way that I could have turned my pain into art, I could have-

Immortalised it. The only good thing about it was that I wasn't the only one in love or in pain. However, I do not wish to be in love and I do not think anyone can make me insanely in love. Maybe I healed too much. And yeah! I have to bring my imagination to real-life play so I can be inspired. I think that I'm in love. " O’ beloved, I hide these amethyst affections, behind the mist of unspoken words. Lovely one Dear Ink.

"Here, in the labyrinth of loneliness, I search for a tune to lure you back, like flowers that await the return of butterflies. " Wow! "I hide these amethyst affections, behind the mist of unspoken words, in the warmth of morning dew, while the bonfire in my heart rises above to caress diamond dreams across your daffodil dawn, for I love you still and I loved you then…" " What a n affirmation of love! I don't want to wax eloquent on the beauty of this poem, the intensity of emotions expressed, the fragrance of romance it wafts, the magical spell it casts, the sweetness of honey each word leaves... the stunning effect it has on the reader! To be brief, this is the the best romantic poem I have read in recent times. I haven't heard the song- Still in love with you.... still I can say this is going to be placed very high.

I love the lyrical way your poem is laid out, Ink E, It has a Breathless feel, in the short lines - pleading words full of promises and pining, a desperation to not be cast aside... Love can be fraught with anxiety - especially when memories of good times stay with us, and give us hope of more to come. Best Wishes for the Contest! (troll below is a coward... No poems posted on her/his account... Has a need to gaslight, devalue, persecute others...) Keep on writing!((Warm Hugs)) xxx

Dear paige youv always been such a kind and sweet soul that has been nothing but supportive of others: and so kind of you to so quickly reach out here to reassure that bullies arent entertained. On platforms such as instagram many would jump to let me know that bullying is not tolerated, however with 165 views on my poem im glad atleast 6 people decided to show some kindness. Appreciate you truly

Such a touching, beautiful poem dear Inky. Divine imagery as always- I was just about to quote and highlight some but they are all beautiful so I would be writing them all out! The loneliness, longing, here is so tangible,’ I am drowning in my darkness’ ‘ sails in sketched solitude’’ I search for a song to lure you back’. Heartfelt. The last stanza really grabs at the heartstrings. The angst of separation is brilliantly portrayed. In awe of your beautiful creativity as always and keep writing

After my epic pantoum poem, I have no idea what to write for this contest, yet... but im sure something will come to me.. as always your poem is full of amazing metaphors and word pairings, which you do with so much ease.. The metaphor of flowers awaiting the return of butterflies is a beautiful depiction of enduring love and the longing for reunion. The final declaration of love, "I'm still in love with you, your voice, your touch, and all that you are," is a poignant and heartfelt conclusion to this emotive journey. Best of luck in the contest..

Didn't know there were haters here. Hahaha. But there's one thing I'm sure of. Haters don't hate unless you're doing something right and they could never have the nerves to come forward so we just step on them below, where they belong.
