Still

Still I've survived on a quarter I've laughed with sorrow I've sighed with fatigue And still the sun rose and kissed my cheek And still the wave ran and swept my feet And still the stars twinkled in my eyes And still the wind spun me round and round And still the rain poured and soaked my feet Even now I survive My head bent down My eyes closed shut My knees to the ground My tears, warm, heavy and salty My eyes red I surrender my breath among the ashes I shall prosper I shall prosper I shall prosper Marckincia Jean 04/01/19 Free verse
