'STEM' means Stagnation

     The most popular educational trend
        Courses labeled as ‘STEM’   
     Science, Technology, Engineering, Math
        Offerings that lead to destruction and wrath

     Nuclear fusion and fission they aid and abet
         Not to mention ‘AI,’ which’ll destroy us all yet
     The more ‘modern conveniences’ we have, the more harried we are
         Ask folks who bicycle, glad they ditched cars

     Perhaps we can teach the next generation
        how best to avoid war through negotiation
     Failing that, mankind seems doomed to stagnation

There are costs to everything that can be hidden for a while. It's quite a thing that is also a tax. Therefore, the opulence we experience may be doing us harm as you point out....it's insidious really. Sending smiles!!

Joseph P. DiMino July 17, 2025 at 2:52 AM Interesting, intelligent write. A couple problems I have been unable to solve. Need two sides willing to negotiate. How does one compromise with wrong? US politics, sides have grown so far apart, negotiations are near impossible. Sex change operations on children? Communism? Marxism? People have lost their minds.

The result was astounding… and scary as hell…. Musically…. The human being may be dead…. Frightening as hell, what AI can and can't do. Sometimes I just want to scream at those STUPID customer service AI's, yet AI can play Chopin's Polonaise flawlessly. Perhaps it's more like a mongoloid idiot who can do certain tasks amazingly well, but is worthless at most everything else. How 'bout that for a definition, eh? ~ gw
